What have I learned about geography so far?

I have learned that geography is the study of, the earth’s surface, the location of countries, etc. Geography is divided into two sections, Physical and cultural features. Physical features are the study of the earth’s features. Such as, the climate, landforms, water features, and soil and the seasons of a place. So if you are learning about physical features, this means you are learning about the volcanoes, waterfalls, mountains, so the features of a place, the natural things. A cultural feature however, is the study of the relationship between a person and the environment. So, cultural features are how you are going to get used to the country or place. You have to get used to the religions, laws, education, your likes and dislikes. So cultural features are more for what you think yourself. I don’t know much about geography so I’m looking forward to learn more.

Homework for Block D (Tuesday 19 September)

http://ssmeetsit.edublogs.org/2006/09/19/homework-for-block-d-tuesday-19-september/

What is the issue?
The issue is that Ferenc Gyurcsány, the Prime Minister of Hungary lied to win the elections. So protesters attacked a TV crew in Budapest, by throwing stones. They ordered the crew to put them on TV and tell all the people watching the channel about Ferenc Gyurcsány lies. Soon after, the police came with tear gas to shoo off the protesters. Since Sunday, protesters are still outside the government building ordering for Ferenc Gyurcsány to quit.

Who is involved?

The people involved in this article are the protesters, TV crew, and the police.

Who is affected and how?
The people affected in this article are the people that are protesting because their Prime Minister, Ferenc Gyurcsány lied to win the Hungarian election. Since Ferenc Gyurcsány lied, it will not make Hungary’s government very successful and everyone will start to protest and boycott. The other people affected are the TV crew in Budapest because the stones that the protesters threw may have damaged their equipment. The actual TV crew has been affected because the stones that got thrown at them injured them. Also the owner of the car that was on fire is affected because now the owner will have to save up for a new car. Lastly the Prime Minister, Ferenc Gyurcsány is affected because many people are protesting at him and he may have to quit being a Prime Minister.

What would you do if you were directly involved?

If I was directly involved I would tell the protesters to solve their problems without causing violence and damage. I would also arrange a government meeting without the prime minister talking about new elections and if it is true that he lied to win the elections. I would do this because you know that we all don’t want violence in the world so we should settle things like grown-ups. In the future if it is solved peacefully then there might be new elections, so that the Hungarians can get the leader that they want.

My Learning Style - Study Skills

-What is your learning style?

I am an Auditory Learner

-What does that mean?

This means that I learn better by hearing. So if I want to memorize something, I learn it better by saying it out loud.

-How can you use your learning style as a strength to succeed in school?

I can use this strength to succeed in school by when I am trying to study or memorize something, I will say what I have to learn out loud many times. So whenever I am learning something I will always keep in mind that I am an auditory learner, and know that I should always use my ears.
